The public pages of this site set no cookies at all. There is no advertising pixel and no cross-site tracking. Two things are written to your device, both only because you asked for them: that you dismissed the notice at the foot of the page, and, if you have used the opt-out below, that you do not wish to be counted.
We do count page views, using Vercel Web Analytics. It records the page, the referrer and a coarse location and device type, and it does this without cookies, without a device identifier, and without anything that would let us recognise you on a return visit or follow you to another site. The measurement request goes to this domain rather than to a third party. Because nobody is identified, this needs telling you about rather than asking your permission, which is why the site still has no consent banner.
If you would rather not be counted at all, add ?no-analytics to the end of any page address on this site and load it once. That browser stops sending page views from then on. It is remembered in the browser you do it in, so it needs doing on each device you use, and it is forgotten if you clear this site’s data. Loading a page with ?analytics turns counting back on.
The organiser area at /admin sets a session cookie once someone signs in. It exists only to keep that person logged in, is required for the area to work, and is never used to track anyone. Cookies that are strictly necessary in this way do not require consent, which is why this site does not ask for any.
Every font, image and script on this site is served from our own domain. Your browser does not contact any third party to render these pages, so no one else sees your IP address by virtue of your visiting.
The form on the home page stores your name and email, and, where you give them, your company or organisation, phone number, website, the category you work in, which route you are interested in, and anything you write in the message box. We also record whether you ticked the marketing box, and when. If you are registering to attend, we record when you confirmed you are eligible for a delegate pass.
Name and email are the only required fields. Everything else is optional and the form works without it.
The data sits in a Supabase database and the site runs on Vercel, which also provides the page-view counting described above. Both act as processors on our instructions. If you consent to marketing, your contact details are also exported to Mailchimp so campaigns can be sent. We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to exhibitors or sponsors.
Both run on servers in Ireland, within the European Economic Area. The UK recognises the EEA as offering an adequate level of protection, so your data does not leave that protection at any point.
One year from the date you contact us, after which your details are deleted. If you ticked the marketing box we keep you on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop, whichever comes first, and the same one-year limit applies to everything else we hold about you.
You do not have to wait for that. Ask us to delete your details at any point and we will, as set out below.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, ask us to restrict that use, or ask for it in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time, and that does not affect anything done before you did. Email hello@sportitechture.com and we will respond within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
